2025 Port Infrastructure Development Program
The Department of Transportation Maritime Administration (MARAD) is offering $450 million in grants through the FY 2025 Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP). The program provides discretionary funding to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of goods movement through coastal seaports, inland river ports, and Great Lakes ports. Key requirements include registering in SAM.gov, obtaining a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), and submitting applications through Grants.gov by April 30, 2025 at 11:59 PM EDT. Eligible applicants include state, local, tribal, and special district governments. Evaluation criteria focus on safety improvements, economic vitality, federal funding leverage, and project readiness. Awards will be limited to 25% ($112.5 million) per state, with at least 25% ($112.5 million) reserved for small projects at small ports. Individual small port project awards will be capped at $11.25 million, and the federal share is generally limited to 80% except for rural areas and small port projects. The place of performance will be at the applicant's port facilities.
