Renewable Resource Extension Act National Focus Fund Projects
The Renewable Resource Extension Act National Focus Fund Projects grant opportunity offered by the United States Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture seeks extension projects focusing on forest and rangeland renewable resources through March 13, 2024. Projects should advance climate-smart technologies and practices for forest and rangeland systems, engage diverse communities and stakeholders, and support new and better markets. Applicants must be 1862 or 1890 land-grant institutions and proposals will be evaluated based on project justification, merit, relevance to the purpose of maximizing adoption of climate-smart natural resource management, and personnel qualifications. The anticipated total funding amount for this grant is $300,000 to be awarded to approximately two extension projects of up to $150,000 each, for a 24-month period. Funded projects are expected to perform work of national or regional relevancy related to emerging forest and rangeland resources through adoption of climate-smart technologies among forest and rangeland owners.

Renewable Resource Extension Act National Focus Fund Project
The RREA-NFF program goal is to enhance the sustainability of U.S. Forest and Rangeland Resources and enable landowners and managers to achieve their desired goals and objectives by making the results of relevant public research available to them. Forest and rangeland resources provide multiple benefits to people including wildlife habitat, water supply, open space, recreation, and cultural resources. Many of these lands are privately owned and managed for forest products, livestock production, and recreation. Forest and rangeland systems are susceptible to less sustainable land use conversion and climate change.
