About this opportunity
The Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services is soliciting bids for installation of a new 750 KVA pad-mount transformer and connections to existing building electrical services at Whiting Forensic Hospital in Middletown, with bids due September 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. EDT. The scope includes removal of existing pavement, installation of the transformer on a concrete pad with positive drainage, bollard protection around the enclosure, pavement restoration with specified bituminous concrete sections, and all connections to existing building electric services. Any incidental utility damage must be repaired at no cost to the owner. Restoration of all disturbed areas outside the work limits to original condition, including minimum six inches of topsoil and seeding, is required at no additional cost. Temporary erosion-control measures (silt sacks and coir logs) and field surveys limited to the temporary fencing area with below-grade utility marking on as-built drawings are included. All work must comply with Connecticut Department of Transportation standards, project specifications, and CT DOT Form 819. Construction drawings dated July 10, 2026 detail site demolition and layout at 1"=10' scale.
