About this opportunity
The City of Newark, New Jersey is soliciting electronic bids for Bid #2022-13, which covers Water System Repair Parts and Fittings located within Essex County. The procurement seeks brass water system repair parts and fittings through the city's e-Procurement Portal (ProcureNow), with electronic bids due on March 31, 2022, at precisely 10:15 am. The two-year contract encompasses 13 specific line items including main valve top plates, operating nuts, gate valves, repair clamps, and lead pak couplings. Bidders are required to submit a detailed pricing proposal indicating their brand name, catalog number, and proposed discount or markup percentage for each line item, along with comprehensive product catalogs. The City reserves the right to request product samples, inspect bidder inventory, and evaluate the equivalency of proposed goods, with the contract to be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder.
The procurement does not explicitly specify set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises, though bidders must comply with various state and local regulatory requirements, including possessing a New Jersey Business Registration Certificate and demonstrating Affirmative Action Compliance. Potential contractors must maintain reasonable inventory quantities to fulfill emergency orders and be prepared to submit documentation for any price changes within five days of their effective date. While no specific budget range is detailed, the City maintains flexibility to increase or decrease the contract amount based on actual requirements. Pricing terms stipulate that percentage discounts or markups will remain firm throughout the contract period and apply uniformly across all manufacturer price list items. Bidders must be prepared to integrate new product items during the contract period by submitting revised price lists with net prices based on the original contract's percentage discount or markup.
