About this opportunity
The Green Bay Area Public School District (GBAPS) in Brown County, Wisconsin, is seeking to procure 4,450 student Chromebooks through a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The procurement allows for two specific Lenovo Chromebook models: the 300e Chromebook Gen 4 2-in-1 and the 500e Chromebook Gen 5 2-in-1, each requiring MediaTek processors, 8GB RAM, 32GB SSD, dual cameras, and integrated styluses. White glove services are mandatory, including asset tagging, engraving, domain enrollment, and green packaging, with precise requirements for device boxing and labeling by school building. Additionally, the district requires 4,450 Chrome OS Management Licenses and a comprehensive inventory spreadsheet detailing asset tags, serial numbers, and school assignments. The RFP was issued on January 5, 2026, with proposal submissions due by January 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM CST through the Bonfire Hub public portal. Vendor selection will be based on a scoring rubric allocating 90 points to cost and 10 points to project history, with proposals requiring detailed project summaries from work completed since 2021.
The RFP does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Vendors must comply with extensive requirements, including substantial insurance coverage (Commercial General Liability of $1,000,000, Business and Auto Liability of $1,000,000, Umbrella Liability of $4,000,000) and background check provisions. All 4,450 units must be delivered and invoiced prior to June 15, 2026, with vendors unable to meet this deadline deemed ineligible. While a specific budget range is not disclosed, the comprehensive technical specifications and volume of devices suggest a significant procurement investment. The contract terms include the district's right to cancel with 60 days' written notice or without penalty due to non-appropriation of funds. Vendors must also demonstrate compliance with FERPA and COPPA regulations, as well as adherence to Wisconsin state laws. The primary contact for this procurement is Jake Alverson, reachable at (920) 391-6783 or jalverson@gbaps.org.
