About this opportunity
Pataula Charter Academy Inc. is seeking a project manager for Spring Creek Charter Academy (SCCA) through a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a comprehensive facility development project in Bainbridge, GA. The procurement focuses on securing a professional to provide turn-key services for developing a permanent building facility, which includes obtaining USDA financing, selecting an architect and construction manager, and overseeing all site approvals and permits. Qualified project managers must demonstrate prior experience with school renovation, expansion, and construction projects in Georgia, with a preference for those with charter school and USDA financing experience. The contract term is anticipated to be 18-24 months, with work beginning immediately to ensure the new building is ready for student occupancy in fall/winter of the 2027-2028 school year. Proposals are due by January 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST, and must include a statement of interest, personnel resumes, descriptions of similar projects, project approach, and a proposed fee structure. Evaluation criteria will primarily focus on the bidder's experience, proposal quality, and fee schedule, with submissions accepted via email to bids@pataula.net or by mail to the provided Edison, GA address.
While the RFP does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises, the document indicates that the project is for a charter school serving multiple counties (Grady, Decatur, Miller, and Seminole), currently operating in modular units with approximately 500 students. The current facility is located at 2501 Vada Road in Bainbridge, and the project aims to develop a permanent building solution. Although specific budget ranges are not detailed in the provided documentation, the involvement of USDA financing suggests potential funding constraints and specific financial requirements. The project represents a significant infrastructure development for the charter school, requiring a project manager who can navigate complex financing, architectural selection, and construction management processes. The comprehensive nature of the project implies a potentially substantial investment in creating a permanent educational facility for the charter school's growing student population.
