About this opportunity
Dooly County, Georgia is issuing Request for Proposal (RFP) 351 for Shoreline Revetment Rehabilitation, posted on March 5, 2018, with a proposal due date of August 31, 2018. This procurement seeks contractor services to restore an existing revetment structure back to its original design template elevations and slopes. The primary objective is to maximize reuse of existing stone and rock materials within the revetment footprint, with smaller stones utilized as base, core, or chinking materials to fill voids, while larger stones may be reincorporated into the armor layer. The contractor must procure the majority of additional armor material needed and deliver it to the site for placement according to the design template. All work must be conducted on or landward of the existing revetment with materials delivered from land, with no regrading of existing rock permitted seaward of Mean High Water (MHW) except for new rock required to construct the design template. Qualifications and evaluation criteria specific to contractor experience and capability in coastal revetment restoration work are implied as necessary to meet the technical requirements of this specialized project.
The RFP documentation provided does not specify set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises, minority-owned businesses, or other restricted procurement categories. No incumbent vendors, current contractors, or existing infrastructure integration requirements are identified in the available information. Similarly, the specific award value or budget range for this shoreline revetment rehabilitation project is not disclosed in the posted opportunity details, requiring interested contractors to obtain the complete RFP document from Dooly County for comprehensive procurement specifications, pricing requirements, and award information.
Opportunity text
The project involves restoring the existing revetment back to the crest elevations and slopes of the original design template. All stone and rocks within the existing revetment footprint will be reused to the extent practical. Smaller stone will be used as base/core stone or chinking to fill voids, while any available larger stone may be re-incorporated into the armor layer. The majority of the armor material will need to be procured by the Contractor and delivered to the site for placement in the Design Template. Existing stone within the proposed maintenance template shall only be moved/restacked to the extent necessary to recreate the original design template. No regrading of existing rock is permitted seaward of MHW, other than new rock required to build the Design Template. All work shall occur on or landward of the existing revetment, with materials delivered from land.
