About this opportunity
The Town of Fairfield, Connecticut has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) numbered 2024-78 seeking qualified firms to provide comprehensive transfer station operations services for its municipal waste transfer station. The primary scope involves full-service operations, maintenance, and management of the station, with the awarded respondent responsible for loading and hauling all waste delivered to various recipient facilities. The base proposal must comprehensively address all expenditures required to ensure the station meets current and future code requirements, state and local permitting obligations, and performs at acceptable industry standards. Additionally, the municipality requires specific services related to Recycling and Bulky Waste (C&D), which must be presented as a separate line item in the pricing proposal. The solicitation period runs from May 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM EDT to May 29, 2024, at 2:00 PM EDT, with a vendor Q&A period scheduled from May 10, 2024, at 2:15 PM EDT through May 22, 2024, at 4:30 PM EDT. Potential respondents must submit statements of qualifications and detailed pricing proposals demonstrating their capability to manage the transfer station operations effectively.
The RFP is open to all vendors without any specified set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational types. No incumbent vendor information or current contract details are provided in the solicitation documents. The delivery terms are specified as Free On Board Destination, with payment terms to be vendor-specified. While the exact estimated total contract value is not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the services required suggests a substantial municipal contract. Interested firms must carefully review the three addenda accompanying the original RFP document and be prepared to meet all technical, operational, and regulatory requirements for managing the waste transfer station. The primary contact for this RFP is Pru O'Brien, who can be reached at the Town of Fairfield for any questions or clarifications regarding the solicitation. Respondents should be prepared to demonstrate their technical expertise, operational capabilities, and compliance with all state and local regulatory standards for waste management and transfer station operations.
