About this opportunity
Montabella Community Schools issued a Request for Bids (RFB) for technology upgrades and additions at two school facilities: Montabella Elementary School and Montabella Junior/Senior High School, located at 1390 E North County Line Road, Blanchard, Michigan 49310. The procurement encompasses structured cabling, paging systems, Wi-Fi clock systems, audio/visual systems, access control system additions, and video surveillance camera additions or relocations at both facilities. Bidders submitting proposals for Structured Cabling work must possess a USAC SPIN number. A mandatory pre-bid meeting was scheduled for January 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom, followed by three scheduled building tours at 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m., with attendance at both the virtual meeting and one building tour required for all prospective bidders. Sealed bids were originally due January 28, 2021, but Addendum 1 extended the submission deadline to February 10, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. EDT at the Montabella Community Schools Administration office, with the deadline for submitting questions set for February 1, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. EDT. Bidders were required to acknowledge receipt of Addendum 1 on their bid forms or face potential disqualification.
The bidding documents require all submissions to include a Familial Disclosure Statement and Iran Economic Sanctions Act Affidavit as mandated by state law, along with bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount in the form of a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or money order. Bids may not be withdrawn for 30 days following submission, and the Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, alternates, or proposals based on judgment of the Owner's best interests. No set-asides, disadvantaged enterprise designations, incumbent contractor information, performance requirements, renewal options, or specific budget ranges are identified in the available procurement documents. COVID-19 visitor requirements were strictly enforced at building tours, including health screening, symptoms and exposure waivers, name and contact information collection, social distancing, and mandatory mask usage. Bid documents were available in electronic PDF format by request from Trevor Groll at Tower Pinkster Titus Associates, the project architect (Project No. 17-134.20), with all inquiries directed to this contact.
