About this opportunity
Chattahoochee Hills Charter School is requesting proposals for a Food Service Management Company to operate the school's food service program for the 2026–2027 school year, with proposals due June 8, 2026, and a pre-proposal meeting on June 1 at 9:00 a.m. at the CHCS campus in Fairburn, Georgia.
The FSMC will manage the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and a la carte food service for students in kindergarten through eighth grade at the single campus location. The contractor must develop and propose fixed-meal-rate pricing for breakfast and lunch; the current meal equivalency rate is $5.23, comprised of a $4.71 federal free reimbursement rate, six cents additional reimbursement, and $0.46 in USDA entitlement donated foods value. Annual price increases are permitted based on the Consumer Price Index for Food Eaten Away from Home, subject to school and Georgia Department of Education written approval. The contractor will draw revenue from federal NSLP and SBP reimbursement, USDA commodity donations, and student meal sales; total anticipated revenues for 2025–2026 were $444,886.59 (comprising $185,032.36 in cash sales and $259,854.23 in reimbursements and commodities; prior-year USDA commodity donations were valued at $18,414.00).
The contract term runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, with four optional one-year renewals. Award is pending Georgia Department of Education approval. The evaluation is weighted across 100 points: cost and financial proposal carry the highest weight at 30 points, followed by service capability, financial condition, accounting systems, experience, and other factors including involvement in promotion of local agriculture and student engagement. Written questions are due June 4, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Virtual walkthrough options are available June 3, 2026. Proposal opening is scheduled for June 10, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
