About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services intends to pursue a single-source procurement with Publix Supermarkets, Inc. for a "Fresh from Florida" Grocery Retailer Marketing Program. This procurement is specifically designed to promote Florida agricultural products through comprehensive marketing channels, including weekly online sale flyers, in-store signage, promotions, and social media posts. The program will focus on generating additional retail sales for Florida produce, seafood, meat, and horticulture within Publix store locations. The contract is set to run from its execution date through June 30, 2026, with a requirement that Publix be a non-paid member of the "Fresh From Florida" Industry Membership program. The procurement opportunity was posted on June 12, 2025, with a response deadline of July 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM, during which prospective vendors can provide information challenging the single-source justification. Publix was selected due to its extensive network of 1,282 stores across the Southeastern United States and its status as the largest retailer of Florida seafood products.
The procurement appears to be exclusively targeted at Publix Supermarkets, Inc., with no explicit set-aside designations or opportunities for alternative vendors. Publix is positioned as the sole source vendor based on its unique market presence and existing infrastructure for promoting Florida agricultural products. The contract has an approximate contract amount of $100,000.00, with a total estimated budget of up to $200,000.00. No specific disadvantaged enterprise requirements or integration challenges are mentioned in the documentation. The procurement is being conducted under Section 120.57(3) of Florida Statutes, which allows for a single-source procurement if no alternative vendors can provide the required commodities or services. The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will review any submitted vendor information and make a final determination about the single-source status through the Vendor Information Portal.
