About this file

This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, targeting a marketing program with Publix Supermarkets, Inc. The procurement is for the "Fresh from Florida" Grocery Retailer Marketing Program, which aims to promote Florida agricultural products through various marketing channels. The contract is set to run from its execution date through June 30, 2026, with a posting date of June 12, 2025, and a last day for receipt of information on July 7, 2025. The program will utilize Publix's extensive network of 1,282 stores across the Southeastern United States to generate additional retail sales for Florida produce, seafood, meat, and horticulture.

The procurement has an approximate contract amount of $100,000.00, with a total estimated budget of up to $200,000.00. Publix is positioned as the sole source vendor due to its unique capabilities, including planning and publishing weekly online sale flyers, in-store signage, promotions, vendor-specific publications, and social media posts featuring Florida agricultural products. The justification for single-source acquisition is based on Publix being the third-largest grocer in the United States and the largest retailer of Florida seafood products. The vendor must be a non-paid member of the "Fresh From Florida" Industry Membership program, and the marketing efforts are authorized under Florida Statute 571.2: Florida Agricultural Promotional Campaign Act.
