About this opportunity
Madison Public Schools and the Town of Madison are seeking a qualified engineering firm to provide comprehensive Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) services for upgrades to the Polson Middle School located in New Haven County, Connecticut. The procurement is structured as a Request for Proposal (RFP) with a solicitation period from August 8, 2022, to August 31, 2022, with proposals due by 2:00 PM EDT on the closing date. The project, which was approved through a referendum on February 15, 2022, is divided into two distinct phases. Phase 1 will require the development of schematic design documents and specifications for HVAC, electrical power, and distribution upgrades, as well as a comprehensive feasibility study for a geothermal system. Phase 2 will encompass the creation of construction documents, providing bid support, conducting construction administration, and managing project close-out. The primary contact for questions is Blair Richardson, P.E., Director of Commissioning and Energy Services at Colliers Engineering, and the RFP includes three supporting documents: the main RFP-RFQ document and two addenda.
The RFP does not specify any set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, indicating the solicitation is open to all qualified vendors. No information is provided about incumbent vendors or current contractors, and there are no details about existing infrastructure or technology that might require integration. The solicitation does not disclose an estimated total project value or specific budget range, and payment terms are to be specified by the vendor. The RFP has been designated as having no line items, suggesting that vendors should provide comprehensive pricing for the entire scope of services. The project's funding was secured through a public referendum, indicating a commitment to the MEP upgrades for the Polson Middle School, but no specific financial details are provided in the available documentation.
