About this opportunity

Burke County Board of Commissioners in Georgia has issued an Invitation to Bid for a specialized One Man Pothole Patcher Truck to be used by the Roads and Bridges Department. The procurement seeks a comprehensive paving compactor with detailed technical specifications, including a 300-gallon asphalt emulsion tank with an electric heating blanket, capacity to hold 5 yards of aggregate with a blower system, and a diesel engine generating at least 70 horsepower. The vehicle must feature specific operational components such as in-cab joystick controls, a rear-mounted camera, backup alarm, directional amber flashing lights, heat and air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio. The cab and chassis requirements include an automatic transmission, 30,000 lbs rear suspension, 12,000 lbs front suspension, and unspecified color. Sealed bids will be received until 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Burke County Courthouse located at 602 Liberty Street in Waynesboro, Georgia. Bidders must submit comprehensive documentation including operator manuals, repair and service manuals, complete warranty information, and delivery timeframes.

The bid invitation does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent organizations. While the document indicates Burke County is open to any and all bids and available options, no specific provisions for disadvantaged enterprises are mentioned. The procurement appears to be a standard competitive bidding process with the county reserving the right to reject any and all bids. No incumbent vendors or existing infrastructure integration requirements are noted in the documentation. Although a specific budget range is not disclosed, the technical specifications suggest a significant capital investment for a specialized municipal vehicle. Interested vendors can direct questions to Ron Smith at 706-554-3124 or r.smith@burkecounty-ga.gov. Bids must be sealed and clearly marked "ONE MAN POTHOLE PATCHER TRUCK BID - ROADS AND BRIDGES - November 5, 2025" to be considered, with late submissions automatically disqualified.
