About this opportunity
Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District is requesting proposals for design, fabrication, and build-out of a mobile interpretive trailer under RFP SBSRD-D-26-Q-0015, with questions due September 29, 2026 and proposals due October 6, 2026. Amendment 1, posted September 14, must be acknowledged in submissions or proposals may be found non-responsive.
The scope is a walk-through educational exhibit integrated into a 2025 Interstate LoadRunner trailer (interior 20.42 feet long by 8.0 feet wide by 7.08 feet high; payload approximately 6,617 pounds) that will teach outdoor stewardship, trail etiquette, conservation, recreation safety, and wildlife awareness at schools, trailheads, parks, and community events across Summit County. The District owns and will provide the trailer platform, portable power supply system, and exterior awning; the contractor must design and fabricate interior components, install two roof-mounted ventilation fans, and integrate the District's awning. Interior materials must withstand road vibration and repeated public use; exterior materials and finishes must endure high-elevation sun exposure, temperature fluctuations, snow, moisture, dust, and travel wear. The contract includes design, materials, labor, transportation, fan and awning installation, and complete build-out.
The total project budget cannot exceed $75,000. Project completion is required by February 28, 2027. The contract term runs from Notice to Proceed through final acceptance, subject to a one-year warranty. Award is anticipated October 13, 2026.
This is a best-value selection. Technical evaluation (850 of 1,000 points) covers comparable experience with at least three similar projects, key personnel qualifications, portfolio quality and durability, and design approach, weighted equally with or above fee (150 points). Proposals must reach a 510-point technical threshold to be scored on price. Pricing must use line-item format with lump-sum amounts per component. Required documentation includes three references, current Utah Business License, Workers' Compensation certificate, and general commercial liability insurance proof. The District reserves the right to interview, negotiate, reject all proposals, or cancel the RFP.
