About this opportunity
The City of Sandy Springs, in close coordination with the Atlanta Regional Commission, Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), and the Perimeter Center Improvement District, is seeking proposals for the development of a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) plan for the North Springs MARTA Station and a corridor concept study for Peachtree Dunwoody Road. The project aims to encourage thoughtful TOD at the North Springs MARTA Station, improve multimodal connectivity between the North Springs and Sandy Springs MARTA stations, identify the appropriate cross-section for Peachtree Dunwoody Road, balance the needs of different transportation modes, enhance the user experience, and identify an alignment for the extension of the PATH 400 Trail. Proposals are due by December 27, 2023, at 2 p.m. EST, and the project is to be completed by November 15, 2024. The RFP is funded by a $200,000 grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission's Livable Centers Initiative and $50,000 in local matching funds from the City of Sandy Springs.
The RFP does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. There is no mention of incumbent vendors or current contractors, and the project represents a new initiative. While additional funding is not available, the City expects the selected consultant to lead the public engagement activities, with the City providing support. The City and MARTA will collaborate throughout the planning process, with MARTA providing data and guidance as the owner of the 13-acre TOD site. The City reserves the right to negotiate the scope and fees with the selected offeror.
