About this opportunity

Murray County Board of Education is soliciting fixed-price bids for natural gas supply at all school locations throughout a 12-month service period beginning April 22, 2026, and concluding April 21, 2027, with an option to renew. Bidders must be Certified Marketers through Atlanta Gas Light and must submit proposals via email to chris.crow@mcsqa.us by April 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.; any proposals received after this deadline will not be considered. The procurement requires bidders to offer a single-part, 12-month fixed rate based on the NYMEX market price for April 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with all customer service, transportation, and basis charges incorporated into the fixed price. The awarded vendor must supply total firm natural gas requirements to all current, planned, and acquired school locations and must provide monthly usage spreadsheets for meter tracking purposes. Key objectives include securing stable, predictable natural gas pricing for the school system while ensuring reliable supply and comprehensive monthly reporting of gas consumption data. The evaluation criteria focus on the competitiveness of the fixed-price bid relative to the NYMEX benchmark pricing and the bidder's ability to meet the school system's total natural gas requirements across all locations.

Murray County Schools is a tax-exempt entity, and accordingly, invoicing will reflect only the commodity charge and the AGL Base charge, with no additional tax implications for the vendor. The procurement does not indicate specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises or other restricted categories of organizations. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the procurement documents, and no existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements are specified beyond the requirement to integrate with Atlanta Gas Light's Certified Marketer network and provide monthly usage data in spreadsheet format. The school system reserves the right to accept or reject all proposals at its discretion. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the procurement documents, though the budget will be determined by the school system's total natural gas consumption across all locations during the 12-month contract period.
