About this opportunity
The Town of Glastonbury, located in Hartford County, Connecticut, is seeking marine engineering services through a Request for Quotation (RFQ) with solicitation number RPGL-2025-17 to rehabilitate the town's boat ramp and dock situated at 300 Welles Street on the Connecticut River. The primary objective is to restore the boat ramp's functionality, which has been compromised by significant sediment accumulation that has limited its operational capacity. Qualified individuals and firms are requested to conduct a comprehensive study that includes a detailed bathymetric survey to determine existing grades, evaluate dredging material quantities, and prepare 2-3 alternative solutions with associated permitting requirements and detailed cost estimates for design, permitting, and construction. The consultant will be expected to provide a thorough analysis of potential restoration strategies, identifying specific permitting needs and developing precise cost projections for each proposed alternative. The solicitation period opens on October 31, 2024, at 7:00 AM EDT and closes on November 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM EST, with strict adherence to the deadline - late proposals will not be considered. The scope of work may potentially extend to include future design and construction phase services, offering a comprehensive approach to the boat ramp rehabilitation project.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types were explicitly mentioned in the solicitation documents. The RFQ appears to be open to all qualified vendors without preferential treatment for disadvantaged enterprises or specific business categories. No incumbent vendors or current contractors were identified in the provided documentation. The solicitation specifies Free On Board Destination delivery terms with vendor-specified payment terms, indicating flexibility in financial arrangements. While an estimated total contract value was not provided, the comprehensive nature of the study and potential future design and construction services suggest a substantial professional services engagement. The primary contact for this opportunity is Nicole Melquist from the Town of Glastonbury, who can be reached for any questions or clarifications regarding the solicitation. The project represents a targeted intervention to address infrastructural challenges at the town's boat ramp, with a focus on long-term functionality and reduced maintenance requirements.
