About this file
The document is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by the Town of Glastonbury, Connecticut, soliciting marine engineering services for the rehabilitation of the town's boat ramp and dock located at 300 Welles Street on the Connecticut River. The solicitation (RPGL-2025-17) seeks qualified individuals or firms to conduct a comprehensive study to restore the boat ramp's functionality, which has been compromised by sediment accumulation. The project requires a detailed bathymetric survey to determine existing grades, evaluate dredging material quantities, and prepare 2-3 alternative solutions with associated permitting requirements and detailed cost estimates. The solicitation period opens on October 31, 2024, at 7:00 AM EDT and closes on November 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM EST, with strict enforcement of the deadline - late proposals will not be considered.
The RFQ is open to all vendors and specifies Free On Board Destination delivery terms with vendor-specified payment terms. No specific contract value was provided, but the comprehensive nature of the study and potential future design and construction services suggest a substantial professional services engagement. The scope of work may extend beyond the initial study to include future design and construction phase services. The primary contact is Nicole Melquist from the Town of Glastonbury, who can be reached at 860-652-7588 or Nicole.Melquist@glastonbury-ct.gov for any questions or clarifications. The project aims to address infrastructural challenges at the town's boat ramp, with a focus on long-term functionality and reduced maintenance requirements.
