About this opportunity

Mt. San Antonio College is seeking qualified contractors to provide on-call large overhead and sliding commercial door repair, maintenance, installation, and emergency response services for campus facilities from September 2025 through August 2030. The Request for Qualifications (RFQ #2025-163) seeks contractors to submit comprehensive proposals electronically via OpenGov by July 30, 2025, at 2:00 pm, with a mandatory pre-proposal meeting scheduled for June 26, 2025, at 1:30 pm. The college intends to create an on-call list of qualified firms and may award multiple contracts, with an initial five-year term and potential automatic renewals. Proposal evaluation will be three-stage and will score submissions across six key criteria: completeness of proposal (10 points), proposer experience (30 points), references (10 points), staffing and organization (10 points), proposed fees (25 points), and appropriate professional licenses and permits (15 points). Contractors must demonstrate expertise in commercial door services, provide comprehensive documentation, and comply with California prevailing wage requirements and Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) registration mandates.

There are no specific set-aside designations or enterprise restrictions mentioned in the documentation. Contractors must provide comprehensive insurance coverage, including workers' compensation, commercial general liability, and professional liability insurance. For projects exceeding $25,000, performance and payment bonds are mandatory. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the contract terms indicate that no minimum work amount is guaranteed, and award will be at the sole discretion of the college. Contractors must be prepared to respond to emergency service calls with 24-hour notification, maintain certified payroll records, and adhere to strict labor compliance standards. The contract allows for potential negotiation and includes provisions for the college to terminate services with 10 days' notice and adjust service scope as needed. Successful contractors will be expected to provide high-quality, professional door installation, repair, and maintenance services across the Mt. San Antonio College campus, with a focus on responsiveness, technical expertise, and regulatory compliance.
