About this opportunity
The Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) is soliciting bids for a multi-year agreement to provide emergency and storm food and lodging services, with the contract running from May 15, 2025, to June 30, 2030. This procurement is designed to establish a panel of vendors capable of delivering rapid response meals and accommodations during emergency situations. The primary objectives include creating predetermined pricing structures and establishing clear communication channels to facilitate quick deployment of food and lodging resources. Vendors must submit comprehensive pricing for all requested items, with unit prices taking precedence, and complete the entire bid package including a W-9 and Vendor Application for new bidders. The contract will be non-exclusive, allowing KUB to engage multiple providers simultaneously based on their ability to meet emergency response needs. Interested vendors are required to contact Abbey Marshall at Abbey.Marshall@kub.org to review complete agreement and contract documents. The bid submission deadline is June 30, 2030, with KUB reserving the right to reject any or all bids at its sole discretion.
KUB actively encourages participation from small businesses, minority-owned businesses, and women-owned business enterprises, providing opportunities for diverse vendor participation. The procurement includes specific provisions for nondiscrimination and compliance with civil rights laws, including a certification regarding non-boycott of Israel. Payment terms are established at NET 30 days from invoice approval, offering vendors predictable financial arrangements. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly detailed in the provided documents, the multi-year nature of the contract suggests a potentially significant opportunity for vendors capable of meeting emergency response requirements. The agreement is structured to provide flexibility, allowing KUB to call upon vendors as needed during storm or crisis events without committing to exclusive relationships. Vendors must demonstrate the capability to rapidly provide meals and lodging services, with the understanding that they may be one of multiple providers activated during emergency situations. The procurement is open to all qualified vendors who can effectively support KUB's emergency response infrastructure.
