About this opportunity
The state of Illinois, through the Central Management Services (CMS) agency, is seeking to extend an emergency contract for Service Station Fuel Pump Repair Services. The original emergency contract was awarded to Stenstrom Petroleum Services Inc. to provide statewide services, including disposals, installations, decommissioning, electrical work, upgrades, inspections, and testing to ensure compliance with regulations and prevent disruption to critical state services. The extension will allow the vendor to continue providing these services from April 5, 2022 to October 4, 2022, with an expected expenditure of $400,000. An Invitation for Bid is anticipated to be published this spring, with a new contract in place at the beginning of Fiscal Year 2023, to establish a long-term solution for these fuel pump repair services.
The original emergency contract was for $100,000, and the extension is justified as a competitive process cannot be completed in time to prevent disruptions to critical state services, health, safety, and revenue collection due to potential fuel leaks, environmental contamination, and inaccurate fueling records if the fuel pumps malfunction. The funding source is dependent on the programmatic needs of each participating agency, which include state agencies, local governmental units, and qualified not-for-profit agencies. The Chief Procurement Officer has determined the emergency extension will expire on July 31, 2022.
