About this opportunity
The Greater Hartford Transit District (GHTD) is seeking proposals through Request for Proposals (RFP) #04-025 for a comprehensive Signage and Wayfinding Project at Hartford's Union Station Transportation Center Complex. The primary objective is to engage a qualified consulting services firm to develop a comprehensive signage and wayfinding plan that will serve as a strategic blueprint for future signage implementation. Deliverables will include a detailed plan and guide that addresses signage strategies, design principles, and implementation recommendations for the transportation center. The solicitation is open to all vendors capable of creating a professional, comprehensive approach to improving wayfinding and signage infrastructure. Key procurement dates include a non-mandatory virtual pre-proposal conference scheduled for December 17, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM EST via Zoom, with a vendor Q&A period running from December 4, 2024, at 4:15 PM EST until December 20, 2024, at 12:00 PM EST. Proposals are due by January 15, 2025, at 2:30 PM EST, with delivery terms specified as Free On Board Destination and payment terms to be vendor-specified.
The RFP does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations. The solicitation appears open to all qualified consulting services firms without specified enterprise preferences or limitations. While no incumbent vendors are mentioned, the project will be executed under the authority of Chapter 103a of the Connecticut General Statutes, with the GHTD operating as a quasi-municipal corporation representing sixteen member towns. The documentation does not provide an estimated total contract value or specific budget range for the signage and wayfinding project. The District's broad powers include acquiring, operating, financing, planning, developing, and maintaining transportation services, with this specific project focused on enhancing the Union Station Transportation Center Complex's navigational infrastructure. Supporting documentation includes various attachments such as addendums, pre-proposal conference materials, general information forms, and photos of non-traditional signage to assist potential respondents in understanding the project's scope and requirements.
