About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking to procure the International Road Dynamics (IRD) Series Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) and VectorSense Data Collection Systems and Software for a concrete pavement research project on SR 200/US 301 in Clay County, Florida. The project involves installing a multi-sensor array of bending plates in the northbound direction and additional WIM sensors in the southbound direction to assess the performance of different WIM sensor technologies. FDOT intends to sole source this procurement to IRD, as they are the sole manufacturer and service provider of the required systems and software within North America. The intended contract term is 5 years, and the estimated value of this single source procurement is $228,120.
This single source procurement is being conducted to support FDOT's concrete pavement research initiative, which aims to evaluate new and emerging pavement technologies and innovative concepts while considering factors such as traffic loading, design features, material properties, construction practices, and environmental conditions. Prospective vendors have until 5:00 pm EST on November 30, 2022, to provide information regarding their ability to supply the required commodities or services. If no other viable sources are identified, FDOT will post notice of its intended decision to enter into a single-source purchase contract with IRD on the Vendor Bid System.
