About this opportunity

The City of Ocala is seeking quotes through RFQ# GRM/260186 for the demolition and removal of a structure located at 1744 NW 4th Street in Ocala, Florida. The procurement targets qualified Florida-licensed General, Residential, or Building Contractors with a minimum of three years' experience in demolition and rehabilitation services. The project requires complete demolition and removal of the existing structure, including all improvements, junk, and debris, with specific requirements to terminate water and sewer connections, remove structural contents, grade the lot, and handle fuel tanks and septic tanks according to Florida Administrative Code and Marion County Health Department regulations. Contractors must complete all work within 60 days of the Notice to Proceed, with standard working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Evaluation criteria include lowest bid pricing, meeting all specified requirements, and compliance with insurance mandates, which include Commercial General Liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate), Commercial Automotive Liability ($1,000,000), and Workers' Compensation. Bidders are strongly encouraged to conduct a site visit and review the provided Asbestos Survey Report prior to submission, with the bid due date of November 20, 2025.

There are no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational types mentioned in the solicitation. The project does not identify incumbent vendors or require integration with existing infrastructure. Bidders must submit a lump sum price that encompasses all project costs, including travel, permitting fees, and disposal, with a permit allowance of $104 included in the bid. The City will award the contract to the lowest responsive bidder meeting all outlined requirements. Contractors must obtain a City of Ocala demolition permit and complete a Contractor Certification Application if not already certified. Additional requirements include securing Marion County septic tank permits, utility approvals, and submitting an FDEP Notice of Demolition form. Liquidated damages of $100 per calendar day will be assessed for work not completed within the specified timeframe. While no specific budget range is provided, the comprehensive requirements suggest a project scope that would likely involve significant demolition and site preparation costs.
