About this opportunity
The City of Austin is requesting quotations for deconstruction workforce training workshop services under IFQ 1500 CM1002, with quotes due August 12, 2026 at 12:00 PM. The solicitation initially targets certified Small Business Enterprises (SBEs) and Minority/Women-Owned Businesses (M/WBEs) under State of Texas and City certification programs; if adequate quotes are not received, the solicitation will be posted publicly.
The scope is a five-day, hands-on deconstruction workshop for 10-15 participants with construction and demolition industry experience at 9501 FM 969 in Austin, Texas. Participants will deconstruct a one-story, wood-frame single-family home built in 1940 (approximately 1,100 to 1,500 square feet) with an optional masonry addition. The contractor must develop and deliver curriculum covering tool use, safety, engineering instruction, material preparation and salvage, legal considerations, and job site management. Key deliverables include a kick-off meeting within five business days of execution, finalized schedule and curriculum by September 1, 2026 (or within three weeks of execution, whichever is later), City approval of workshop materials by September 22, 2026, submission of workshop run-of-show and knowledge assessments by October 9, 2026, workshop execution November 16–20, 2026, and a final debrief meeting by December 20, 2026. The City retains all rights to educational materials and intellectual property, including lesson plans, videos, and written materials.
Minimum qualifications require substantive, demonstrated experience providing comprehensive, multi-day hands-on deconstruction training services to groups of 10 or more professional contractors on building sites, preferably in Texas. Pricing must be submitted FOB Destination with all freight charges included; the City of Austin is exempt from federal excise and state sales tax, which must not be included in quoted prices. Prices must be all-inclusive of administrative fees, overhead, per diem, and shipping with no separate charges. Award will be made to the lowest responsive offer meeting minimum qualifications. Payment is due within thirty days of receipt of properly documented invoices upon satisfactory performance.
