About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for meat and cheese products to supply six correctional facilities through a documented quote (DQ 2027000126), with quotes due October 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. MST via bidnetdirect.com. Written inquiries are due October 13, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MST.
The scope covers frozen meat products (ground beef, beef patties, chicken patties, turkey sausage, turkey franks, ground turkey, turkey roast, thigh meat, meatballs, turkey bologna, and turkey roll) and cheese products (American, cheddar, and mozzarella) in specified quantities totaling approximately 116,828 pounds of meat and 46,220 pounds of cheese. All meat must be fully frozen at no higher than 0 degrees Fahrenheit, produced within the last ten months, and delivered with proper labeling and transport containers. Cheese must be produced within eighteen months of delivery. Kosher-certified items require current certification documentation. All pricing must be itemized and all-inclusive of shipping costs; no additional surcharges or taxes are permitted. Delivery is F.O.B. destination on or before November 6, 2026 (with contract month order delivery by December 11, 2026). Substitutions are prohibited; brand and item numbers awarded will be exact products expected at delivery. Vendors must provide three calendar days' written notice if unable to meet delivery schedules; failure to deliver on three separate occasions within 36 months may result in disqualification from future CDOC solicitations for three years or indefinitely.
This is a single-order contract for December with no renewal options. Award will be made to the responsible bidder whose acceptable quote is most advantageous, with price as the primary consideration, though sample quality and lead time may also be evaluated. All awarded contractors must complete an Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days of award, obtain Colorado Secretary of State Good Standing proof, and provide an insurance certificate prior to purchase order execution. Vendors must maintain commercial general liability insurance at $1 million per occurrence. Notice of Intent to Award is estimated for October 23, 2026, with purchase order execution anticipated for November 9, 2026. Facilities receiving shipments are Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility, Buena Vista Correctional Complex, Canon City Central Warehouse, Denver Women's Correctional Facility, Limon Correctional Facility, and Sterling Correctional Facility.
