This solicitation is restricted to certified Work Centers as defined in 5 MRSA 1826-B.2; bids from non-Work Center organizations will be disqualified.
The scope covers weekly cleaning of approximately 1,188 square feet of office space, one day per week between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekly duties include sweeping and mopping tile floors, vacuuming carpeted areas, cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, emptying trash and recycling containers, and cleaning entryways and glass surfaces. Monthly tasks include dusting door casings and baseboards. Bi-annual requirements include carpet shampooing and window cleaning. The contractor must provide all cleaning equipment and supplies except liquid bathroom soap, paper products, and trash bags (supplied by the State). Equipment specifications include a commercial/industrial vacuum with HEPA filter and self-contained carpet cleaning equipment capable of 50 PSI cleaning solution pressure and 100 inches of water lift. The contractor is responsible for supervising personnel, providing identification nametags, and immediately replacing any employee deemed unsatisfactory by the Agreement Administrator.
The contract term runs May 1, 2013 through April 30, 2016. Bidders must submit total, monthly, and yearly pricing through the State of Maine's Vendor Self Service system. Minimum insurance includes Workers' Compensation and Employer's Liability as required by law, Commercial General Liability of $300,000 per occurrence with ISO Broad Form coverage, and Automobile Liability of $300,000 per occurrence. A facility walk-through is strongly encouraged and can be arranged by contacting the Agreement Administrator, Jean Flannery, at 207-557-2023 or 207-941-4590. Award is based on proposed price and ability to fulfill specified duties.
