About this opportunity
The State of Maine's Division of Purchases is requesting bids for military 4L80 transmissions and repair parts to support up to 300 vehicles, with quotes due August 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. local time.
The scope includes a Transmission Hydraulic Kit (4L80) for Model Year 2001 or later vehicles identified by NSN 2520-01-489-0849, along with six accompanying component parts including transmission cases, microcircuits, bent tubes, and access covers. Vendors may propose additional 4L80 transmission repair parts beyond the specified items. Projected purchase volume is 250 to 300 units per item. Delivery is to 125 Kansas Road, Limestone, Maine 04750. Bids are assumed to be for new items unless otherwise specified; sample items and Certificates of Conformance may be required prior to award.
Electronic submission is mandatory. Unit prices must be submitted separately for each item unless otherwise noted. Bidders may submit alternate commodities provided they furnish complete identification and descriptive literature; bids lacking such documentation will be assumed to propose the commodity as originally specified. The state reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10% and to award on either an individual item or group basis. All transportation charges, including freight and express costs, shall be prepaid and borne by the contractor unless otherwise specified. The state is exempt from federal and Maine state sales and use taxes; quotes should reflect this exemption.
Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best overall value to the State of Maine, with consideration given to quality, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and ultimate cost. Cash discounts of 20 days or more from the invoice date will be considered in bid evaluation. Bidders must specify delivery terms in definite language. All hazardous chemicals supplied must include current material safety data sheets as required by Maine's Chemical Substance Identification Law.
