About this opportunity
The Florida Gaming Control Commission (Commission) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to obtain information on providing Floridians with a Compulsive or Addictive Gambling Prevention Program. This RFI is for planning purposes only and is not a solicitation for offers, but the information gathered may be used to develop a future competitive solicitation. The RFI requests vendors to provide business information, detailed descriptions of program service models compliant with Florida Statutes, proposed accountability standards, pricing structures, and other relevant details. Responses are due by September 3, 2024, and the Commission may select one or more respondents to discuss and demonstrate their proposed services. The contract resulting from this process shall provide for an advertising program to encourage responsible gaming practices and publicize a gambling helpline, with accountability standards for any private provider. The RFI notes that the program will be subject to annual appropriation by the Florida legislature, and the initial and renewal terms have not yet been determined.
The RFI does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The Commission does not currently have an active contract for a gambling helpline, and $2,000,000 is allocated for the program in fiscal year 2024-2025, with potential additional funding of $1,500,000 annually from the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The RFI indicates that responding to this RFI does not prevent a vendor from being eligible to contract with the agency in the future.
