About this opportunity
Marion County Public Schools (MCPS) in Florida is soliciting bids for a ten-month term contract to procure classroom and office supplies for its Central Warehouse, covering 194 line items ranging from legal pads, file folders, and binders to markers, pens, batteries, and specialized educational materials. The procurement is specifically for Bid #4102AH, with orders to be placed on an "As Needed Basis" and delivered exclusively to the Central Warehouse. The contract term runs from March 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025, with all prices remaining firm throughout this period. Key submission requirements include electronic-only proposals through myvendorlink.com, with strict prohibitions on additional documentation or alternative pricing structures. Vendors must complete a precise Excel-based Proposal Form, provide samples for verification, and ensure all items are new, appropriately packaged, palletized, and shrink-wrapped. Critical dates include a bid release on December 20, 2024, questions due by January 10, 2025, and bid responses due by January 15, 2025, with board approval scheduled for February 25, 2025. Notably, MCPS will be closed from December 23, 2024, through January 3, 2025, for winter break.
While no specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned in the documents, the procurement emphasizes compliance with federal grant requirements and anti-discrimination policies. The estimated total budgeted resources for this procurement is $950,000, with vendors required to provide unit pricing, specify packaging sizes, and understand that minimum order requirements will be considered on a line-item basis. The bid allows for Florida preference pricing and includes detailed specifications about product quality, packaging, and delivery standards. Vendors must also commit to notifying the Central Warehouse of any product discontinuations or changes. The solicitation suggests multiple vendors may be awarded contracts, as the tabulation sheet reveals various vendor submissions with different pricing structures. Vendors must comply with the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act and the Labeling of Hazardous Art Materials Act, demonstrating the comprehensive regulatory compliance expected in this procurement process.
