About this opportunity
The City of Austin is requesting bids for citywide office moving and relocation services under IFB 5000 BRS1080, with bids due October 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM CT and written questions due October 9, 2026 at 5:00 PM CT. A local-business preference of up to 5% applies to vendors headquartered within the Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos Metropolitan Statistical Area, and a small-business preference of up to 5% applies to recognized small-business certifications; both discounts apply to offers up to $500,000, with a 3% small-business discount for offers between $500,000 and $50 million.
The scope encompasses all labor, materials, and equipment for office moves and staff relocations within or between City buildings, plus interim storage on an as-needed basis for all City departments. The pricing structure includes four categories: hourly labor rates for movers, drivers, supervisors, and installers during regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–5:00 PM, estimated 400–1,000 annual hours) and non-regular hours (estimated 100–200 annual hours); rental equipment and moving supplies (estimated annual quantities include 40,000 reusable crates, 100 rolls each of shrink wrap and packing tape, and pallet jacks, safe jacks, dollies, panel carts, and gondolas); interim off-site storage (informational only, not used in award determination); and optional non-specified related services. All pricing must be all-inclusive with no separate charges for administrative costs, overhead, vehicles, transportation, travel time, mileage, or fuel. The City reserves the right to award a single contract or multiple awards by line item, category, or combination as advantageous.
All contractor employees and subcontractors assigned to the contract must be compensated at a minimum living wage of $22.15 per hour, with annual certification and employee verification required. The contract is fixed-price for the initial 24 months, with potential economic price adjustments thereafter based on Bureau of Labor Statistics labor indices, capped at 25% per line item. No MBE/WBE subcontracting goals apply. Payment is due within 30 calendar days of invoice receipt or deliverable acceptance. The primary contact is Bridney Stewart at (512) 974-3127.
