Seminole County Government is seeking a qualified Fire Protection Contractor to design and install a new fire sprinkler system for the Central Transfer Station (CTS) Extra Hazards Group (2) located at 1050 SR 419, Longwood, FL 32750. The project requires complete removal of the existing fire sprinkler system and comprehensive design and engineering by a licensed Architecture and Engineering (A&E) firm. Contractors must be licensed to do business in Florida, have been in operation for a minimum of three years, and have completed four similar projects within the last three years. The project requires a State of Florida Fire Suppression Systems Contractor 1 or Contractor 2 license. Key deliverables include full system design, removal of the existing infrastructure, and installation of a new fire sprinkler system, with all work to be completed outside normal business hours (Monday - Friday, 7AM - 6PM) to minimize facility disruption. The project timeline is 180 calendar days, with 150 days allocated for substantial completion and 30 days for final completion. Multiple addenda were issued extending the proposal due date, with the final submission deadline set for December 14, 2022, at 2:00 PM (EST).
The solicitation encourages M/WBE (Minority/Women-owned Business Enterprise) participation, though no specific set-aside percentages were explicitly stated. Proposals can be submitted via OPENGOV or email, with strict requirements for acknowledging addenda to avoid being deemed non-responsive. The project has a total estimated budget of $792,000.00, with contractors responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and coordination necessary to complete the project. Contractors must provide their own equipment, replace any damaged ceiling tiles, paint visible pipes, and coordinate closely with county facilities management. The project requires a 5% bid bond and comprehensive insurance coverage. No incumbent vendor was specifically identified, and the solicitation indicates that subcontractors may be utilized through private agreements, though the primary bid must be submitted by a single company. The work must be completed without disrupting the normal workflow of the facility, with most work expected to occur outside standard business hours.
