About this opportunity
The Pinellas County School District is soliciting sealed electronic bids for a Casework Design and Install project (Invitation to Bid #25-CD-065) to provide shop-fabricated laminate casework across various district schools. The procurement encompasses labor, materials, and services for installing back wall cabinets, sign-in cabinets, moveable cubbies, mailboxes, and reception counters. Qualified bidders must be Florida-licensed carpentry contractors located within a 30-mile radius of the district office, with demonstrated experience including three comparable casework projects completed within the last five years. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for August 12, 2025, at 9:00 AM at Walter Pownall Service Center, with electronic bids due by 3:00 PM on August 25, 2025, through the district's e-Procurement Portal. Contractors must provide mockups with color samples prior to construction, using materials from approved manufacturers like Formica and Wilson Art. Evaluation will focus on responsiveness, meeting specifications, and lowest bid pricing, with award recommendations expected by September 3, 2025, and School Board approval anticipated for September 23, 2025.
The contract will be awarded to a maximum of two responsive and responsible bidders, with no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises mentioned in the documentation. Contractors must comply with background screening requirements under the Jessica Lunsford Act and provide evidence of five continuous years of business operations under the same legal entity. The contract period runs from September 27, 2025, through September 26, 2026, with options for two additional one-year renewals by mutual consent. The estimated contract value is $400,000, though no total dollar amount is guaranteed. Price escalations are permitted at renewal periods but cannot exceed the previous year's Consumer Price Index percentage change. Contractors must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage, including $1,000,000 per occurrence General Liability Insurance, $300,000 Automotive Liability Insurance, and Workers' Compensation Insurance meeting statutory requirements. The district reserves the right to extend pricing to other governmental agencies within Florida, providing potential additional opportunities for the awarded contractors.
