About this opportunity
The Town of Groton, located in New London County, Connecticut, has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ 25-15) for bus transportation services specifically for the Parks and Recreation Department. The procurement seeks to establish a vendor to provide comprehensive bus transportation services for a four-year period spanning from June 2025 to August 2028, with an option to extend the agreement for an additional two years at the Town's discretion. Prospective bidders must complete a bid form and company information sheet but are not required to return the entire Invitation to Bid package. The solicitation specifies Free On Board Destination delivery terms with vendor-specified payment terms. The RFQ opens on November 7, 2024, at 9:00 AM EST and closes on November 25, 2024, at 12:00 PM EST, with Karl Klein serving as the primary contact for any questions, reachable at 860-441-6681 or kklein@groton-ct.gov. The Town is tax-exempt and will complete any necessary tax exemption forms within its legal parameters.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on vendor types are mentioned in the documentation. The solicitation appears to be open to all vendors without preferential treatment for disadvantaged enterprises or small businesses. No incumbent vendor information is provided, and there are no explicit details about existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements. While the RFQ does not specify an estimated total contract value or budget range, it represents a four-year bus transportation services contract with a potential two-year extension. The Town of Groton seeks competitive pricing and a reliable transportation vendor to support its Parks and Recreation Department's mobility needs. The lack of line items and specific quantitative details suggests that the final contract terms and pricing will be negotiated based on the submitted bid forms and company information sheets.
