About this opportunity
The Town of Groton, located in New London County, Connecticut, has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ 25-18) for bus transportation services for its Parks and Recreation summer programs. The procurement seeks a vendor to provide school bus transportation with a capacity of 50-55 children, with pickup locations at either Mystic Magnet School or North East Academy in Mystic. The service period spans approximately June 16 to August 22, with most trips requiring one bus, though occasional needs for two buses may arise. Vendors must demonstrate flexibility to accommodate potential schedule changes due to inclement weather. The solicitation opens on December 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM EST and closes on January 7, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST, with all responses to be submitted to Karl Klein, the point of contact at the Town of Groton. The delivery terms are specified as Free On Board Destination, with payment terms to be vendor-specified. No specific evaluation criteria are explicitly outlined in the documentation, suggesting a potentially straightforward selection process based on responsiveness and pricing.
The RFQ appears to be open to all vendors without specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. No information is provided about incumbent vendors or existing transportation infrastructure that might require integration. The solicitation does not disclose an estimated total value or budget range for the transportation services, leaving pricing details to be determined through the vendor's response. The lack of defined line items suggests vendors should provide comprehensive pricing for the described transportation services. Interested vendors can contact Karl Klein at 860-441-6681 or kklein@groton-ct.gov for any additional inquiries about the procurement. The absence of specific constraints implies that any qualified school bus transportation provider with the capacity to meet the specified requirements can submit a proposal for consideration.
