About this opportunity

The City of Tucson is conducting a Request for Proposal (RFQ No. 212634) for Automated Container Repair Parts through its Business Services Department's Shared Services Procurement Division. The primary procurement focuses on high-quality plastic replacement lids for front-load containers, specifically for 36" x 48" and 36" x 58" sizes, with additional requirements for metal refuse container parts and accessories. Vendors must submit product samples of 36" x 58" lids to Environmental Services for comprehensive testing and evaluation, with proposals due on October 11, 2022, at 2:00 pm. The contract term is initially one year, with potential renewals for four additional one-year periods. Evaluation criteria will include technical requirements, product sample quality, vendor qualifications, and overall experience. Bidders must provide detailed product information covering UV protection, lid finish, availability, durability, temperature resistance, and specific hinge design specifications. A seven-year warranty on lids is mandated, with warranty items not being returned to the contractor.

No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the procurement documents. The total contract value is not to exceed $100,000, with pricing structured across two product groups: Group 1 covering lids (estimated annual quantities of 1,800 for 36" x 58" lids and 180 for 36" x 48" lids) and Group 2 covering accessories such as replacement floors, drain plugs, casters, and associated freight costs. The procurement opportunity is open to qualified firms capable of meeting the City of Tucson's technical and performance requirements for container repair parts. No incumbent vendors were identified in the provided documentation. The contract appears designed to establish a comprehensive supply arrangement for container replacement parts, with a focus on ensuring high-quality, durable components for the city's waste management infrastructure. Potential contractors should be prepared to demonstrate substantial manufacturing capabilities, product reliability, and the ability to meet stringent technical specifications.
