About this opportunity
Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC), a community college district located in Los Angeles County, California, is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to procure athletic apparel, uniforms, footwear, kinesiology supplies, and related equipment to support its 24 major collegiate athletic programs serving over 800 student-athletes. The procurement encompasses 14 sports programs including baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, cross country, football, golf, indoor volleyball, pep squad, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, water polo, and wrestling. Proposers must submit pricing as percentage discounts off manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) across six categories: team apparel and stock uniforms, custom uniforms, team footwear, accessories, physical education supplies, and physical education equipment, with estimated annual uniform quantities ranging from 12 units for golf to 150 units for football (approximately 558 men's uniforms, 319 women's uniforms, and 60 unisex uniforms combined). Vendors must be either the manufacturer of the proposed brand or an officially authorized reseller/distributor with written verification of authorization, and all products must be nationally recognized intercollegiate athletic brands meeting California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) rules and regulations, current market relevance standards comparable to NCAA Division I programs, and applicable safety and labor standards. Key dates include the RFP release on April 27, 2026, a non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting on May 4, 2026, a request for information cutoff of May 11, 2026, a proposal submission deadline of May 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., optional interviews on May 25, 2026, award recommendation on June 24, 2026, and contract commencement on July 1, 2026. Vendors must also propose a one-time product credit incentive (signing bonus) upon contract execution, and Mt. SAC reserves the right to award multiple contracts, reject any or all proposals, and modify quantities based on actual needs and funding availability.
The RFP documents do not identify specific set-aside designations or restrictions based on disadvantaged enterprise status, minority-owned business enterprises, women-owned business enterprises, or other socioeconomic classifications; however, all vendors must comply with federal non-discrimination provisions and demonstrate eligibility regarding federal debarment and suspension regulations. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the solicitation materials. All vendors must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage including commercial general liability of at least one million dollars per occurrence and two million dollars aggregate, employer's liability of one million dollars per occurrence, workers' compensation as statutorily required, and automobile liability of one million dollars combined single limit, as well as comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 regarding accessibility standards. The estimated contract value ranges between $100,000 and $250,000 annually under a three-year contract term beginning July 1, 2026, though actual expenditures may vary at the College's discretion. Mt. SAC's state-of-the-art athletic facilities, including Hilmer Lodge Stadium, an Aquatics Complex, Gymnasium, Wellness Center, and Heritage Hall, represent some of the most advanced community college athletics infrastructure in the United States, and the selected vendor will support one of California's most important development and transfer hubs for collegiate athletics.

With new, state of the art Athletic Facilities including Hilmer Lodge Stadium, an Aquatics Complex, Gymnasium, Wellness Center, and Heritage Hall, Mt. Mt. SAC has a long track record of producing high-level transfer and professional athletes, especially in track & field, football, and distance running. Many student-athletes use Mt. SAC as a stepping-stone to NCAA Division I programs, with a significant number transferring annually to universities in the UC, CSU, and major private college systems.
The college is particularly famous for its track & field and cross country pipeline, where athletes frequently compete at national junior college championships before moving on to elite NCAA programs and, in some cases, professional or Olympic-level competition. Mt. SAC's football and other team sports also regularly send players to four-year universities, where they continue their athletic and academic careers. Overall, Mt. SAC functions as one of California's most important development and transfer hubs for collegiate athletics, especially for athletes who are looking to improve academically, physically, or competitively before moving to the next level.
High-quality uniforms are an important part of Mt. San Antonio College athletics because they directly support performance, safety, and program identity across its large and competitive sports system. Well-designed uniforms use modern performance fabrics that help regulate body temperature, improve mobility, and withstand the demands of a long collegiate season with frequent travel and competition.
Uniform quality also matters for team cohesion and recruitment, since Mt. SAC competes at a high level among California community colleges and regularly attracts student-athletes aiming to transfer to four-year programs. Consistent, professional-grade uniforms help reinforce a strong program brand during high-visibility events like track meets, football games, and championships hosted at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
Finally, durable uniforms are a practical necessity for an institution with hundreds of athletes across multiple sports, ensuring that gear lasts through intensive use while maintaining a polished and unified appearance for the college.
