About this opportunity
The Burke County Board of Commissioners is seeking sealed bids for the procurement of one asphalt paver through a competitive bidding process scheduled to conclude on November 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM. The solicitation requires a sophisticated asphalt paver with specific technical requirements, including a minimum operating weight of 21,000 lbs, maximum paving width of 17' 8", a 4-element electric heated screed, and a diesel engine with at least 120 HP. Additional required specifications include three-speed hydrostatic drive, automatic track tensioning, steel tracks with Polly Pads, electric height adjustment, and a steering wheel. Bidders must submit comprehensive documentation including all operators, repair, and service manuals in paper form, complete warranty information, and delivery timeframe details. Bids must be sealed and clearly marked "ASPHALT PAVER BID - ROADS AND BRIDGES - November 5, 2025" and submitted to the Burke County Courthouse in Waynesboro, Georgia. The county will award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting their specific equipment needs, with the right to reject any or all bids.
While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned in the documentation, potential vendors should note the strict technical and documentation requirements for bid submission. No incumbent vendors are identified in the provided materials. Interested parties with questions are directed to contact Ron Smith at 706-554-3124 or r.smith@burkecounty-ga.gov for additional information. The procurement is specifically for the Burke County Roads and Bridges Department, with the expectation that the equipment will be fully operational upon delivery and acceptance. Although a specific budget range is not disclosed, the detailed technical specifications suggest a sophisticated piece of municipal infrastructure equipment. The successful bidder will be required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and the equipment will be delivered directly to the Burke County Roads and Bridges Department.
