About this opportunity
The Suwannee River Water Management District (the District) in Florida is issuing an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for all-hazard debris clean-up services within its approximately 162,000 acres of rural land holdings in north central Florida. The District is seeking to develop contracts with firms available immediately and continuously following events such as hurricanes to remove debris and make the District's 1,700 miles of forest roads safe for use. The initial contract term is five years with three one-year renewal options. Bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting on July 17, 2024 and submit bids by July 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM EDT. The District plans to award multiple contracts to responsible and responsive vendors who submit the lowest bids and provide the best value. Pricing will be evaluated based on the total crew cost, and the contractor(s) must have specific equipment and crew resources to perform the required services, which include precision tree removal, debris clean-up, and debris hauling.
The ITB encourages participation by minority and veteran-owned businesses, and will give preference to them when scores are equal. Payments will be made biweekly upon completion of work and District inspection. The ITB does not provide details on any existing incumbent vendors or current contractors, nor does it specify an award value or budget range. However, the District is seeking to develop contracts that will be immediately available and continuously utilized following all-hazard events, indicating the potential for significant contract value over the five-year term.
