About this opportunity
The Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) is soliciting bids on behalf of the Community College of Denver for professional moving services to relocate seven health sciences programs to the Boulder Creek Health & Science Center, with quotes due October 12, 2026 at 2:00 PM Mountain Time. A mandatory pre-bid meeting and facility walkthrough was held September 23, 2026, and attendance was required for responsiveness.
The scope encompasses relocating approximately seven academic health sciences programs—Health & Wellness, Dental Hygiene, Veterinary Technology, Surgical Technology, Phlebotomy, Nursing, and Radiologic Technology—from two existing locations (Lowry Campus at 1070 Alton Way, Aurora, and Cherry Creek Building at 1111 West Colfax Avenue, Denver) to the new facility at 950 10th Street, Denver. The relocation includes classroom furnishings, office contents, instructional materials, specialized medical and laboratory equipment including X-ray systems, C-arm imaging equipment, mammography units, dental equipment, and simulation equipment. The scope requires all labor, supervision, packing materials, reusable moving totes, transportation, and specialized handling. Bidders must obtain quotes from GE HealthCare for specialized technical disconnection and reconnection services on designated imaging equipment. Equipment is assumed valued at $1,000,000 for insurance purposes. The project begins phased relocation in late November 2026 with full completion required by December 31, 2026.
Respondents must demonstrate a minimum of five years of commercial relocation services experience and provide documentation of at least three comparable healthcare, higher education, or laboratory relocation projects completed within the past five years with client references. Mandatory requirements include three project descriptions involving specialized medical and laboratory equipment relocation, assignment of a dedicated Project Manager, and proof of all required Colorado licenses and registrations. The awarded respondent must provide proof of Colorado Secretary of State Good Standing and certificates of insurance prior to Purchase Order execution.
Award will be made to the responsible respondent whose acceptable quote is most advantageous to CCD, with cost as the primary evaluation criterion, followed by specialized medical and laboratory equipment experience, move approach and logistics, comparable project experience and references, and project management qualifications. Quoted pricing must be submitted as a firm lump-sum price on Appendix E and must include all costs associated with complete relocation including labor, supervision, transportation, insurance, fuel, equipment, materials, specialized equipment handling, and third-party subcontractor services. Respondents must provide detailed pricing breakdowns by major task or phase, hourly labor rates for additional services, and unit pricing for reusable moving totes and additional packing materials. All pricing must remain valid for a minimum of 90 days from the quote due date. Written inquiries were due September 28, 2026. Award notification is estimated for October 14, 2026, with a desired Purchase Order start date of October 16, 2026.
Cargo and inland marine insurance with a minimum limit of $150,000 per occurrence is required; for specialized medical, laboratory, imaging, or research equipment, a minimum sublimit of $120,000 per occurrence is required.
