About this file

This document outlines the insurance requirements established by the Community College of Denver (CCD) for vendors and subcontractors performing moving and relocation services. The vendor must obtain and maintain comprehensive insurance coverage including workers' compensation insurance as required by Colorado state statute with employers' liability coverage, commercial general liability insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $1,000,000 general aggregate, and automobile liability insurance with a minimum combined single limit of $1,000,000 per accident covering owned, hired, and non-owned vehicles. The State of Colorado and CCD must be named as additional insureds on all commercial general liability policies. All required insurance policies must be issued by CCD-approved insurance companies and must provide primary and noncontributory coverage over any insurance carried by CCD or the State of Colorado.

The insurance policies must include provisions requiring at least 30 days' prior written notice to the vendor before cancellation or non-renewal, except for non-payment of premiums, with the vendor responsible for forwarding such notice to CCD within seven days of receipt. All insurance policies must include subrogation waivers protecting the vendor, CCD, the State of Colorado, and associated agencies, institutions, and personnel. Additionally, the vendor must maintain cargo and/or inland marine insurance with a minimum limit of $150,000 per occurrence covering loss or damage to furniture, equipment, laboratory equipment, medical devices, and instructional materials during packing, loading, transportation, unloading, staging, and placement. For specialized medical, laboratory, imaging, or research equipment, the cargo insurance must maintain a minimum sublimit of $120,000 per occurrence to cover damage from handling, transportation, rigging, or placement of such equipment, with coverage extended to all property owned by the State of Colorado and other entities entrusted to the vendor during relocation services.
