About this opportunity

The Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC), on behalf of the Community College of Denver, is requesting documented quotes for professional moving services to relocate seven healthcare and educational programs to the Boulder Creek Health & Science Center, with quotes due October 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM Mountain Time. The mandatory pre-bid meeting and facility walkthrough occur September 23, 2026 at two locations: 2:00 PM at Lowry (1070 Alton Way, Aurora, CO) and 3:30 PM at Cherry Creek Building (1111 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO); written inquiries close September 25, 2026 at 2:00 PM.

The scope encompasses relocation of Dental Hygiene, Health & Wellness, Nursing, Phlebotomy, Radiologic Technology, Surgical Technology, and Veterinary Technology programs from Cherry Creek and Lowry campuses to 950 10th Street on the Auraria Campus. The project includes moving classroom furnishings, office contents, specialized instructional materials, and sensitive medical equipment including dental chairs and X-ray machines, nursing beds and IV pumps, laboratory analyzers, anesthesia machines, veterinary equipment, mammography and C-arm imaging units, and over 140 additional specialized items documented in Appendix A. Source locations span Dental Clinic (1062 Akron Way), Cherry Creek (1111 Colfax Avenue), Lowry (1070 Alton Way), and Arts Building (1150 10th Street Room 276).

Respondents must demonstrate a minimum of five years of commercial relocation experience and provide descriptions of at least three completed projects involving specialized medical and laboratory equipment relocation within the past five years, with references for at least three comparable healthcare or higher education relocation projects. A dedicated project manager and mandatory full attendance at the pre-bid meeting are required. All pricing must be firm, fixed, and lump-sum—including labor, supervision, transportation, insurance, fuel, equipment, materials, and specialized services—with 90-day validity and detailed task breakdowns plus hourly rates for out-of-scope work. Cargo and inland marine insurance with $150,000 per occurrence minimum and specialized equipment coverage with $120,000 per occurrence sublimit apply; the State of Colorado and CCD must be named as additional insureds. Award goes to the responsible respondent with the most advantageous quote based on cost (primary consideration), specialized medical and laboratory equipment experience, move approach and logistics, comparable project experience and references, and project manager and team qualifications. SDVOSB participation goals of at least 3% of contract value apply. Award is estimated October 7, 2026; desired Purchase Order start is October 12, 2026. Project completion is targeted December 31, 2026, with phased moves potentially beginning late November 2026 to support mid-January 2027 semester start.
