About this opportunity
This state and/or local contracting opportunity is for the repair of the Sharks Channel Bridge on the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail in Monroe County, Florida. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking bids for Addendum #1 of project BDC44-23/24. The scope of work includes the removal of the existing deck cantilevers, with the supporting I-beams to be cut flush to the concrete arches. No new deck overhangs will be constructed, and the focus is on installing a new railing cap. There are specific limitations on equipment weight (10,000 lbs over a single arch) and restrictions on barge spudding activities due to the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary regulations. Contractors will be responsible for obtaining a building permit and associated fees. The bid documents outline the liquidated damages and traffic control requirements. The bid submission deadline is June 12, 2024.
This opportunity is open to all qualified contractors, with no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. There is no information provided on any existing incumbent vendors or contractors, and the available budget range is not specified. Contractors will be responsible for integrating their work with any existing infrastructure or technology at the project site.
