About this opportunity

The Henry County Board of Education is soliciting sealed lump-sum bids from general contractors for an addition to Union Grove Middle School in Henry County, Georgia, with a non-mandatory pre-bid conference on November 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and bids due December 3, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Only bids from contractors registered with the Architect will be accepted and opened, so registration with PBK Architects Georgia, P.C. is a gating step before submission.

The addition includes 11 classrooms, three science labs, associated workrooms and offices, an orchestra suite, and restrooms. It is Type IIA sprinklered construction with load-bearing construction and masonry infill, a brick veneer exterior, a TPO roof over tapered insulation, rooftop HVAC units, and new low-voltage systems. Bidding documents are available electronically through PBK Architects Georgia, P.C. in Griffin, Georgia, upon registration and a non-refundable $250.00 deposit. Plans may also be examined at Construct Connect, Dodge Data & Analytics, and PBK Architects.

Each bid must include a bid bond of not less than 5% of the Base Bid. The awarded contractor must furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each equal to 100% of the Contract Price. Bids are held for 60 days after opening, and the Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities. Sealed bids are delivered to the Henry County Board of Education Administrative Office Annex at 396 Tomlinson Street, McDonough, Georgia 30253. Dr. John Pace, III is the authorized representative.
