UNSPSC 95121907: Meteorological station

A place where meteorological tests and reading are taken and recorded

UNSPSC 95121907 Meteorological station (Commodity) does not reflect the work state and local governments are actually buying under this code. The recent solicitation block contains construction and renovation projects spanning irrigation system improvements, security vestibules, HVAC modifications, auditorium seating replacement, and campus expansions—none of which constitute meteorological-station procurement. The code shows little relevant recent activity; the single opportunity nominally tagged to this Commodity (the City of DeBary, Florida's Rob Sullivan Park Irrigation Improvements, Bid 03-15, a $90,000 project with an April 10, 2015 deadline) involves irrigation infrastructure design and installation, not meteorological instruments or observation equipment. The remaining 35 opportunities in the block are construction, renovation, and facility-management work wholly unrelated to the code's stated scope.

The mismatch between the UNSPSC code name and actual procurement activity suggests either systematic miscoding in the source data or dormancy of this Commodity code in state and local practice. Firms evaluating pursuit under this code should verify that opportunities they identify are correctly classified and that the code itself remains in active use for meteorological-station procurements at the jurisdictions of interest; the current dataset provides no evidence of state or local demand for meteorological monitoring equipment or services.
