The contract will be awarded using a best value source selection method and will be structured as a firm fixed price commercial services contract with timber removal subject to agreement. The anticipated Request for Quotes will be issued around July 21, 2025, with responses due by August 25, 2025, and a mandatory site visit scheduled for August 4, 2025, at 9:30 AM at the Heber-Kamas Ranger District office in Kamas, Utah.

Description of Work- The Yellow Lake Fire started on September 28, 2024, on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest (UWCNF). Hazard tree abatement along roads used by emergency personnel associated with this incident, either caused by suppression activities or wildfire, is considered an emergency in need of Emergency Mitigation under National Environmental Policy Act general requirements (36 CFR 220.4 (b) and (b) (1)). Once trees are felled, they become a fuels hazard emergency and must be decked/piled to be burned by FS or removed from NFS lands. Additional services to be performed include treatment of slash/fuels, road maintenance, suppression repair rehabilitation work including Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) that entails road maintenance, gate replacement, and noxious weed mitigation.

There is an unestimated volume of fuelwood that is subject to agreement for removal.
