About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 2 issued a Notice of Intent on August 12, 2026 to award a sole-source contract to Sound Room Solutions, Inc. for refurbishing the interior of audiology booths at Northport VAMC, with a capabilities statement deadline of August 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM EST. The VA cites 41 U.S.C. 253-c-1 and FAR 6.302-1, asserting that only one responsible source can satisfy agency requirements. Sound Room Solutions, Inc. is the authorized sole-source distributor for IAC Acoustics' Accutone II Medical and Life Sciences product in nine states (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Texas). The VA states that IAC is the only manufacturer possessing combined testing data for all system components and pre-engineered panels compatible with the existing booth. The Government anticipates a firm-fixed-price contract award. Period of performance is three calendar days from notice to proceed. Interested parties may submit capabilities statements providing clear evidence of capability to perform the required services; the VA will proceed with sole-source negotiations with Sound Room Solutions, Inc. if no viable responses are received by the deadline. The refurbishment is necessary to prevent further delays to patients requiring healthcare services. Contracting Officer: Charlie Augustin, Charlie.Augustin@va.gov, 718-836-6600 x5522. PSC Y1DA; NAICS 339112.
