About this opportunity
The U.S. Forest Service is seeking contractors to perform the Windy Helicopters Stewardship IRSC project on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests in Idaho. The project requires cutting and removing designated timber from approximately 169 acres across 4 helicopter logging units to reduce the risk of insect and disease infestations, as well as wildfire risk. The work includes harvesting sawlogs and non-saw material, maintaining haul roads, and reconstructing 9.98 miles of roads at an estimated cost of $250,000 to $500,000. Contractors must meet minimum sawlog specifications and will be required to provide a 20% bid bond and 100% payment and performance bonds for the construction portion of the work. Proposals are due by May 31, 2024.
This is an unrestricted competition, and there is no set-aside designation. The period of performance is from the date of award through October 31, 2027. The government has not identified any incumbent contractors. The contract will be awarded under the Stewardship Authority granted to the Forest Service, and payment will be made through a combination of stewardship credits and appropriated funds.
