About this opportunity

The Department of Energy Office of Science, through Brookhaven National Laboratory (operating as Brookhaven Science Associates), is soliciting quotations for the fabrication and delivery of 2,125 DUNE FD-VD CE Boxes, precision electronic enclosures used in the DUNE FD-VD Cold Electronics subsystem. Vendors must demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of documented experience in precision sheet metal fabrication and CNC machining of aluminum and stainless steel for scientific instrumentation, aerospace, or high-reliability applications, and must provide evidence of capacity to produce comparable quantities (1,000+ units) within the last five years with three reference projects. Key technical requirements include 100% interchangeability of all units, removal of all oil, grease, and contaminants with documented cleaning procedures, permanent marking per MIL-STD-130 with unique serial numbers and QR codes, and adherence to a two-phase delivery schedule with 25 pre-production units within 60 days of award and 2,100 production units within six months thereafter. Award will be made on a Firm-Fixed Price basis to the responsive and responsible offeror submitting the lowest total price while meeting all mandatory technical qualifiers and RFQ requirements. Questions must be submitted by February 13, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET, and quotations are due by February 20, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET.

This solicitation has no set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractor is identified. The overall contract value is to be determined based on vendor pricing submissions, with the contract extending eight months following award, with one optional exercisable month at BSA's discretion for a potential nine-month total performance period. The procurement is structured in two phases: Phase 1 requires 25 pre-production units for final validation and fit-check, while Phase 2 (optional) requires 2,100 production units to be delivered in six monthly batches of approximately 350 units each contingent upon successful Phase 1 qualification. Shipping is FOB Destination to Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, New York, with freight prepaid by the contractor and all pricing inclusive of import duties and customs costs. The NAICS classification is 334418 (Printed Circuit Assembly Manufacturing) with a 750-employee size standard, and all offerors must register in the System for Award Management (SAM) or complete the AMS-Form-050 if foreign vendors.
